Regardless of your feelings towards the recently released the other half from Kevin Smith‘s Masters of the Universe: RevelationIt is always satisfying to see an expert in their work, And Mark Hamill And Lina Headey They are definitely masters of their voice work. Watch the video of Hummel and Heidi playing He-Man’s nemesis Skeletor and partner evil/witch Evil-Lyn respectively, record a scene from the second half of the show.
If you miss part 1 of inspirationAll you really need to know is that Skeletor finally got his hands on the power sword He-Man, and managed to channel Grayskull’s power into himself – becoming a He-Skeletor, if you will. Since Skeletor was already powerful on his own, this made him reach for the Skele-God using his new power to do more than just hit people. Watch and listen:
A few important things here, first of all: How does Mark Hamill do that with his voice and can then speak like a normal person? It’s as if he scratches his nails below his vocal cords every time he speaks as Skeletor, and Skeletor talks a lot in inspiration—and that’s before you find out in all the multiple things he has to do for each line. Second, this is the first time after the pandemic that I’ve seen two voice actors recording in the same room at the same time, which is great because I’ve talked to enough voice actors to know that they prefer recording with others at the same time giving them a playable performance. Finally, it’s curious how effortless Heidi and Hamill can look? It shouldn’t really come as a surprise because Hamill expressed it Batman: The Animated Series‘The Joker was perfect, and Heidi was cruel and vengeful.’ Cersei Lannister employment game of Thrones, but still… a bit weird.
